What Sets Our Clinic Apart From Other Practitioners?
Terry is a registered pharmacist and has been practicing for over 10 years.  Her experience and knowledge of Western medicine provides a greater advantage and security that you are in the right hands. Being a former patient, she has tried many approaches on her road to healing.

She combines techniques from acupuncture, NAET, NET, and TBM that have provided her patients with successful results.

A comprehensive diagnosis is clearly communicated to you.

She loves what she does and is devoted to top quality patient care.

She educates you about what’s wrong, why and how it can be healed and involves you to participate in the healing process.

Your treatment is personally tailored to your needs. Many acupuncturists settle in with treating the same protocols on all of their patients. At Healing Roots Acupuncture, your treatment specifically reflects your unique individual dynamics.

How we assess your health…
Every healthcare practitioner has a set of tools she or he uses to evaluate patients. Medical doctors listen to your breathing and heart with a stethoscope, take your blood pressure, analyze blood and urine samples, and will ask you about your symptoms, among many other things.

Here, we have many tools, but they can be grouped into two main categories: Muscle Response Testing (MRT), and the many examinations done traditionally by practitioners of Oriental medicine. These tools will be used appropriately at your initial consultation in the clinic, and on a continuing basis as we work together to get your health where you want it to be (or perhaps, even better, to a level you haven’t experienced lately, and should.)

Does acupuncture hurt?
No, acupuncture should not hurt. A momentary pinch is often felt around the needle as it is inserted, eventually creating a dull pressure or tingling around the area during the treatment. Most people are amazed by how relaxed they feel during and after the treatment. This can only occur if the treatment is comfortable and gentle.

Is acupuncture safe?
As long as a competent practitioner performs it, acupuncture is extremely safe. Acupuncturists are required to use disposable needles that are discarded after one use.

Does insurance cover acupuncture?
Some insurance companies do cover acupuncture and the list is growing as acupuncture continues to rise in popularity. Healing Roots Acupuncture will gladly give you any and all receipts and documentation for the patient to submit for insurance reimbursement or for your Flexible/Health Saving Account.

If you have suffered a personal injury in an auto or motor vehicle accident, your or the other parties’ car insurance will pay for acupuncture treatments. We will provide you a superbill for you to submit to your motor vehicle insurance.

What forms of payment are accepted?
Cash, check, credit card, and Venmo are the accepted forms of payment at the time of service.

How many acupuncture treatments will I need?
This is unique to the individual. For most chronic conditions, 5-10 treatments on a weekly basis tends to offer the best outcome. Some people notice an immediate improvement in their health while for others acupuncture tends to have a cumulative effect over several visits.
